BELARUS: cry for help!

We had presidential elections on 19th of December. We've got the same president for 4th termin (almost 80% of votes and huge falsifications) :( Let me tell you what do we have now as a result. It is my hugest shock ever, I think we see birth of new fascism in centre of Europe, pay attention please, until it is not too late.

Our governmental mass-media are lying, our country is in information blockade, people from regions know almost nothing about 50-70 of thousands of people on central streets of Minsk, capital of Belarus. Regions can reach real information through internet only, and internet in Belarus in very expencive and pretty slow to watch videos and load big photos. After this huge protests of people, who are tired to live in soviet country, wich we have because of Lukashenka, last dictator in Europe, around 700 of people were arrested and thousands were beaten and probably even dead - we can't confirm numbers, because hospitals are keeping silence and don't give any information to media. By the end of meeting unknown people in black were trying to break inside the building of Parliament, and because of that people everybody were arrested afterwards and beaten very hard. Luckily, it is already prooved, that it was peaceful demonstration, and those, who broke windows in Parliament were policemen and people from KGB.

Eat. Pray. Love.

Have just watched "Eat. Pray. Love." Such a fantastic, huuuuuuuge inspiration and I'm full of thoughts now. Memories about India and Bali in one, thoughts about this big-big world waiting for me, about incredible and endless world of my dreams, of my deep inside, of memories and people, whom I love and whom I care about. 


And I know what do I want now ;)

Strochitsy, Belarus

We were surprised about having so nice historical place near Minsk! I can advice for sure to visit Strochytsy (The National Museum of Rural Life and Architecture) to anyone from my foreign friends! Especially it is very beautiful there in spring I guess ;) We've been there in the beginning of 2010 together with our 34mag team

Strochitsy is only 18 km from Minsk, is a small village on the banks of the River Ptich. Collections of original pieces of architecture let you compare Belarusian rural styles from different parts of the country and different ages. Wanna back...

I travel quite a lot, but now I have this strong wish to come back there as soon as it is possible. Moreover, I have visa in my pass, so it is just a question of time and money... UK is like a magnet for me now, I can't understand why!

While we spent our time in London in Dec, 2009, it was a huge fun for us watching Family Guy in English) Currently I'm watching 2nd season and enjoying it a lot. And now, after a week in the loneliness in evenings I was watched Family Guy, drunk tea with a milk, and yesterday I've discovered Billie Holiday for myself - I hadn't heard a word in Belarusian at all! As a result today I had my dreams in English!!! :). It was my final call to pack my bags! :)

Ducks. Cooold!

I've seen this miserable ducks today next to my work: about 100 birds in the warm plant drain... Fed them with a donut from my bag, which was supposed to be my dinner ;) Maybe I'll go there again with a loaf of bread tomorrow, poor-poor hungry frozen ducks!

Minsk sky

It is very strong frost here in Minsk now. Yesterday I've caught on my cam wonderful view: plane tracks in the whole sky during the sunset. Enjoy ;)
